Doctor

Dr. Daniel H Iyer , DVM

Daniel Iyer graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Microbiology and minor in music in 2001. Dr. Iyer graduated from the University Of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2005. He has done working externships at Stephen J. Ettinger’s referral facility in Los Angeles, CA studying advanced cardiology. Dr. Iyer enjoys cardiology, neurology, and orthopedic surgery. In June of 2005 he began his true veterinary career at South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital as an associate with Dr. Beck. As a student for 8 years at The University of Georgia, he played in 3 bands and recorded 1 album. He also enjoyed symphonic music as he played in the University orchestra during undergrad and vet school. Dr. Iyer enjoys mountain biking, water skiing, and snow skiing and hanging out with his wife Tara and two dogs, Maximus and Abby.

Dr. Randy W Beck , DVM

Randy Beck graduated from Clemson University in 1991 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. Dr. Beck received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia in 1994. After practicing for 7 years at Veterinary Medical Center as Chief of Staff in Alpharetta Ga, he became the owner of South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital in May, 2001. Dr. Becks practice special interests include orthopedic surgery, ultrasound and veterinary dentistry. His outside interests include whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, guitar and golf. He and his wife Aimee have a four year old son named Walker, a brand new baby girl named Addie Kate, 3 dogs named Dagger, Lola and Maxine, and a big old fat cat named Big Al who was a rescue from the clinic.

Management

Brian Peel , RVT, MBA

Brian is a registered veterinary technician that has been with us for the past 9 years. He is our head veterinary technician and Office Manager. Brian received his licensure as a technician by taking, and passing, the veterinary technician national exam in January, 2005. He has a BBA centering in Human Resource Management and a MBA centering in Organizational Psychology and Development from AmericanInterContinental University. Brian spends his spare time with his animals. He has a standard Schnauzer named Angus, a Jack Russell named Lucy, another Jack Russell named Laney, a German Shepherd named Fisher, and his pit bull mix Nettle. He plans to spend the rest of his waking years here with us at South Cherokee and would even live here if given the chance.

Reception

Renee Erale

Renee is a receptionist here at SCVH and you will always remember her by her kind heart. She came to us around two years ago and was the little ray of sunshine that we needed. She spends her spare time with her husband Brad and all of her animals. She has a Chihuahua named Oscar that most of our clients know because he is here just as much as Renee is. She also has a Lab named Brody, cats - Felix, Momma, & Sylvester, and a turtle named Turtle.

Jennifer Hulsey

Jennifer is perhaps one of the happiest people you will ever meet. There are not many times that you will see her when she is not smiling, or laughing. She has not been with us very long, but it feels like she has been with us forever because she works so well with us. She is working on her BBA in marketing at Kennesaw State University. She spends her free time with her boyfriend Frank and her dog Sparkplug.

Wesley Crochet

Wesley came to us after five years of experience in the veterinary technician field. Wesley fits in great with the rest of the crew because of her extremely positive attitude and smile that can brighten even the glummest times. She spends her free time with her husband Ray, her 18 month old daughter Mallory, and her animals. She has a mutt named Roxy and a Pomeranian Emily.

Tara Godfrey

Tara is a very happy person with an unconditional love for animals. She has a blast with all of the animals and they have a blast too. She is currently in school working to become a veterinary technician. She has two ferrets, Adonis and Eris.

Veterinary Assistants

Amanda Garcia

Amanda is a veterinary assistant and has been with us for the past 5 years. She spends her spare time with her husband Luke, her two children Chastin and Taylor, and her animals. She has two Rotties, Jazzer and Deeds, the cutest shephard mix, Jewles, a dachsund named Zoe, and a guinea pig named Molly. She enjoys working here with us and plans to for a long time.

Erin Chance

Erin has been an assistant for about six years. She joined our team three years ago and has shown her great attitude and bubbly personality. In her time away from the clinic she is a real estate agent. Her scarce free time is spent working out and hanging out with her friends and pets. She has a Doberman, Amber, a Jack Russell, Jorden, and an orange tabby, Jr.
